Terms, Privacy, Cookies and Accessibility

Whilst all reasonable efforts have been made to ensure the accuracy of content, no responsibility can be taken for any error or omission.

We take your privacy seriously and are committed to preserving the privacy of all visitors to our website. Any information you provide is used solely to process your enquiry and to help us offer a high level of service.

This site has multiple web administrators. The original creator/web developer cannot accept responsibility for ongoing content accuracy, plugin use, or third-party updates.

Information That We Collect from You

We may collect and use information you provide via website messages, emails, or letters you send to us.

By registering or inputting your details on this website, you consent to the collection, use, and transfer of your information.

Your information will not be sold, shared, or used by third parties.

We use Google Analytics (GA4) for anonymous statistics. This helps both us and the website designer understand how the site is being used. Please see ‘Analytical Tracking Cookies’ below for more details.

Cookies

We use cookies to improve your experience. By continuing to use our site, you consent to the use of cookies as set out in this privacy policy.

We 100% without exceptions aim to use only essential or functional cookies, such as:

  • Member logins (the system has to know you’ve logged in)
  • Embedded media (e.g. YouTube – although we aim to use Vimeo going forward which is more inline with our views on cookies)
  • Accessibility options (how the site remembers what you chose)
  • Anonymous website statistics (Google Analytics – simply tells us how people use our site).

If there’s an option to reduce or disable cookies (especially for embedded media), we’ll take it. Our goal is always to use as few cookies as possible.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser that help personalise your experience and make your next visit quicker or smoother. They can also help the site recognise your device if needed.

Types of Cookies Used on Our Site

1. Necessary Cookies

These are essential for certain site features such as logins, bookings, payments, or secure forms. Our website may not currently use all of these, but your browser may still alert you when cookies are in use.

2. Analytical Tracking Cookies

These collect anonymous data about how you use the site — what pages you visit, how you found us, and where you left. This helps us improve the experience. If your IP is visible, it may show the country you’re visiting from. You may use your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting if you’d prefer not to be tracked. See ‘Managing Your Cookies’ below.

3. Embedded Media Cookies (e.g. YouTube)

We may embed videos or other content that use external cookies. These can include:

  • Choosing the best video player for your device
  • Tracking video views (for YouTube)

Where possible, we reduce or disable these cookies. However, some features — like embedded videos — may require them to work.

4. WordPress Cookies

WordPress may use cookies for certain plugins (e.g. a member area). If we use cookie-driven plugins, we’ll list them here.

Password Reset Emails

If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email for security reasons.

Comments

When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser info to help with spam detection. This is standard practice.

We may use Gravatar (a global avatar service) to display profile images with comments. If you use Gravatar, an anonymised string (a “hash”) from your email address may be shared with that service. You can view their privacy policy at: https://automattic.com/privacy

If you wish to delete your comment:

  • You may do so manually.
  • Or, contact us with the exact page, name, time, and content. We can remove it for you. There may be an admin fee for this service.

Managing Your Cookies

Most browsers have a Help section explaining how to manage or block cookies. While you can disable cookies entirely, we recommend leaving them on to ensure a smoother web experience.

If privacy is a high priority for you, we recommend browsers such as Brave or Firefox, which offer greater control over cookies and trackers.

Changes to This Page

Any changes to this policy will be posted here and, where appropriate, communicated via email.

Stock Images

We use free or paid stock images on our site. Where required, we’ll credit the photographer or company. If you see your image and would like a credit added, please contact us.

Accessibility

The website designer is making every effort to ensure the websites we create are as accessible as possible and truly stand apart from the norm. We hope you find the custom accessibility tools useful, and that the overall experience feels clear, calm, and easy to use.

Accessibility is something we take seriously and will continue to improve over time. We regularly review the site to make sure it meets — or exceeds — WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

If you spot any accessibility issues or barriers, or just to tell him how things could be made better (no matter how small), please let James from UoE Design Studio know by clicking the link in the footer and finding his contact details.
